My Approach

How I Work

My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practice while remaining deeply sensitive to the cultural, social, and economic realities of life in Nepal. I believe that effective therapy must be both scientifically grounded and culturally resonant.

Evidence-Based Foundation

Every intervention I use is backed by research. Whether it is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, Problem Management Plus for community-level distress, or trauma-focused approaches for PTSD, I select methods based on what works — not just what is popular.

Cultural Adaptation

Evidence-based does not mean one-size-fits-all. I adapt therapeutic frameworks to fit the Nepali context — considering family dynamics, cultural beliefs, socioeconomic challenges, and the unique stressors faced by different communities across Nepal.

Collaborative & Empowering

Therapy is a partnership. I work alongside you, not on you. My goal is to help you build the skills, insights, and resilience to navigate life's challenges — not to create dependence on therapy.

Holistic Perspective

Mental health does not exist in isolation. I consider the whole person — physical health, social connections, economic circumstances, and cultural context — when understanding your experience and planning treatment.
