Clinical Psychologist & Psychosocial Counselor — Kathmandu · Worldwide
Evidence-based online counseling for anxiety, depression, postpartum mental health, trauma and substance use — with a clinical psychologist in Kathmandu, in English, Nepali and Hindi, for clients anywhere in the world. Start with a free 30-minute consultation.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychosocial Counselor with experience across clinical, community, and research settings in Nepal. My work spans maternal mental health, adolescent well-being, trauma recovery, and evidence-based therapeutic practice.
I have worked with organizations including TPO Nepal and CMC Nepal, providing direct counseling — including 260+ hours supporting mothers with postpartum depression — facilitating group interventions, and contributing to mental health research and program evaluation.
Sessions take place online in a private video room (Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp Video), so your location and time zone are never a barrier. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, Problem Management Plus (PM+), and trauma-informed care — adapted to your cultural context, wherever you are.
Evidence-based frameworks, adapted with deep cultural sensitivity — online for clients in Nepal and worldwide.
Evidence-based treatment for mood disorders, generalized anxiety, panic, and social anxiety.
Specialized support for postpartum depression, prenatal anxiety, and the transition to motherhood.
Trauma-informed therapy for PTSD, complex trauma, loss, and grief processing.
Age-appropriate interventions for teens dealing with school pressure, identity, and family dynamics.
Compassionate support for substance use concerns, harm reduction, and recovery.
Holistic well-being support addressing social, emotional, and environmental factors.
I believe every person is the expert on their own life. My role is not to fix you — it is to walk alongside you, providing clinical knowledge, evidence-based tools, and a genuinely safe space.
My practice is grounded in Problem Management Plus (PM+), a WHO-endorsed intervention for people affected by adversity in low- and middle-income settings — combined with cognitive-behavioural principles, narrative therapy, and psychoeducation.
All sessions are strictly confidential, conducted with warmth and without judgment — online, wherever in the world you are. Whether you're seeking therapy for the first time or returning after a break, you will be met with care.
“Cultural sensitivity is not an afterthought in my work — it is central to it. Your context is never left at the door.”
PHQ-9, GAD-7, PM+, CBT-informed approaches — grounded in research and adapted for real-world, resource-constrained settings.
Nepal's family systems, stigma, language, and values are woven into every session. Your context is never left at the door.
You set the pace. I follow your lead while providing structure, safety, and the clinical expertise to help you move forward.
As an active researcher, I bring the latest evidence into practice — not just what worked a decade ago.
A 30-minute introductory call to discuss your concerns and see if we're a good fit — no commitment required.
Your first full session uses validated tools to explore your history, goals, and what you'd like to change.
Together we create a tailored therapy plan — frequency, approach, goals, and what success looks like for you.
Regular sessions and progress check-ins that evolve as you do. Continuity is always your choice.
